Butchers Buffet Eastwood Review
Kicking off the first ever blog post here, we have a hearty Korean BBQ buffet at Eastwood.
Before booking an appointment at the buffet, I’d been served numerous Facebook ads for the new Eastwood location. It only took two friends tagging me on their Facebook post for me to give it a try.

THE PRICE
This restaurant opened back in October 2021, and when we visited the location they offered a 15% off promotion when two people from your group left a review on their Google My Business (which also explains the thousands of reviews for their profile). I’m not sure if they still have the promotion, but it’s worth asking when you’re at the counter if leaving a review will get a cheeky discount.
Outside the promotion, their prices are reasonable for a Korean BBQ buffet. See pricing below:
We went for the Friday dinner option which also included a free soft drink for each person, but when you’re with friends and at a Korean BBQ restaurant, it’s almost rude to not have an original soju to go with the delicious meal. Sadly, the staff cut me off after a bottle of soju (shared amongst 4 people) as my Asian flush revealed itself (P.S. I only had 2 shots max!). I was okay with not drinking but definitely felt guilty for preventing the table from ordering more alcohol.
THE FOOD
When you walk into the restaurant, you’re immediately greeted with a row of raw and marinated meat. There’s a great selection of meat and seafood, and even rolled up meats in the freezer which you can help yourself to.
As with many Korean BBQ restaurants, the meat is the main course, but it’s also the experience of the meal that makes it all worth it. This restaurant does not disappoint with its huge variety of cold and hot foods outside of the BBQ meats.
There is a salad/veggie bar to go with the meal when it gets a little too meat-heavy.
My favourite is when they have a variety of Korean side dishes which you can add to the lettuce and meat to cut through the taste, or even take a break from the meat dishes and BBQ some of the classic veggies instead. There is actually a section which features more side dishes (but not shown here as I got carried away with eating).
While you go to a Korean BBQ for their selection of meat, the Butchers Buffet’s star of the show is definitely their fried chicken. Their Korean fried chicken is almost a standalone meal you could have! By the time we got to them, they were hot, fresh and juicy – definitely comparable to a Korean fried chicken joint.
As well as the salads, side dishes and fried food, there’s also a carby array of rice-based dishes. In my opinion, they weren’t worth taking up precious space in your stomach – I’d save it for the fried chicken and BBQ meats.
THE VIBE
The restaurant’s atmosphere is modern and fun with Kpop music in the background and large screens on the wall with the music video – it’s definitely a whole vibe here.
THE SERVICE
Aside from being cut-off from the drinks way too early, the staff were friendly and attentive. They changed our charred grill very regularly (almost too regularly, to be honest).
THE VERDICT
Overall, we were all very impressed with the selection of food and the high quality cuts of meat. Now, this isn’t a place you go to for high quality wagyu that is buttery and melts in your mouth, but it is authentic and for the price you pay, you definitely get quality meat.
You must try the Korean fried chicken as Butchers Buffet could almost just specialise in fried chicken itself. The only let down is the selection of desserts available. They only had vanilla ice cream and small brownie bites. The vanilla ice cream was hard to scoop out which I do not have an issue with as it does indicate the ice cream is harder to melt (no one wants to get to their table and have melted ice cream). However, the ice cream is your standard store-bought ice cream from the supermarket so they could definitely lift up their dessert game. It was also odd to complete a Korean BBQ buffet without fresh cut up fruits, so perhaps they should consider adding this to their selection.
WOULD I COME BACK?
The answer is yes and no.
While I didn’t have anything major to fault Butchers Buffet, I would choose not to come back only because there wasn’t anything there that would keep me coming back. The fried chicken was delicious but everything was on par with what you’d expect from a Korean BBQ buffet. I’d also prefer to continue my food journey and try other Korean BBQ buffet places.
But why do I say yes? Because at the end of the day, this is a buffet and the quality of meat and food for a buffet is outstanding. Had this been just a la carte menu, my answer would be a definite no.
